Reflecting Unity Art Exhibition (7th-29th Sept)

Reflecting Unity

(7th – 29th Sept)

An Exhibition of Art Work by Peter Senior

These art works by Peter Senior are a creative response to his love of strong colour and forms of every kind

reflecting the underlying unity of our perceived diverse and sometimes chaotic world.

Reflecting Unity

Peter’s artwork is a creative response to his direct observation, following many years of studying philosophy, meditation and reflection.  He uses a variety of materials and techniques including oil, acrylic, watercolour, wax, ink, sgraffito and collage to explore nature’s underlying geometric and abstract shapes, circles are predominant.

Reflection pieces demonstrate how simple observational techniques can be used by the spectator to see this apparently diverse and sometimes chaotic world around us as having an underlying, undeniable unity.

“It’s not what you look at that matters, it’s what you see.” (Henri David Thoreau 1817 – 1872).

How it works on our educational courses

A tutor presents material, and leads a discussion based on what arises. Being practical rather than academic, the emphasis is on personal knowledge. Students are encouraged neither to accept nor reject the ideas put forward, but to test them in practice for themselves, in the light of their own experience.

Wonderful classes

"Thank you so much to my tutor for the wonderful classes that you have taken. My whole life has transformed since joining the course. I feel a much better person and that is all credit to you and the way you conduct the class and encourage its members.”

The present moment

“This course ‘woke me up’, particularly to the present moment. Learning to use the ‘full stop’ between daily events and pausing, rather than everything running in to one continuum”

Very practical

“I have thoroughly enjoyed this course. It has been very practical and has given me lots of tools and exercises to use in my daily life. Coming back each week and feeding back to the group has reinforced what I have learned and given me extra pointers”.
