An inspiring evening of fine Italian music with a trio of exceptional musicians to nourish mind and
spirit accompanied by a light vegetarian 2 course Italian-themed meal.

“An Italian Evening”

An evening of fine Italian music with a trio of exceptional musicians to nourish mind and
spirit accompanied by a light vegetarian 2 course Italian style meal to feed the body. Soft
drinks will be supplied but you are welcome to Bring Your Own choice of wine or beer.
Tables are for 6 sharing, so come with friends or on your own and meet the best friend you
didn’t know you had!

The Players

Ian Tate has been a piano accompanist based in Manchester since post-graduate study at
the Royal Northern College of Music. He has worked with singers, choirs and orchestral
musicians as well as holding teaching posts in further and higher education. Now retired
from teaching, he has been pianist to the Lancaster Singers since 2012.

Jonathan Booty – Flute. Jonathan studied at the Royal College of Music with Graham Mayger and was then awarded a French Government scholarship to study for a year with Michel Dubost in Paris. Jonathan was appointed assistant principal flute in the Halle in 1980 where he performed
for nearly 30 years. After leaving he studied post grad composition at Manchester
university and freelanced with different ensembles in the North West.

Alison Hunt – violin. Alison studied at the Royal college in London with Raymond Cohen and then went on to a further post graduate year at the Royal Northern college with Clifford Knowles. Alison joined the Halle in 1980 and was a member of the first violin section for over 40 years
before she retired.

The programme will include the music of Vivaldi, Respighi, Corelli, Piazzola amongst
others.
