Belmont House, Stockport is a large, traditional Victorian/Edwardian building of local and historic interest, now modernised to high business standards. It is just 5 minutes from the M60, 5 minutes from Stockport main-line railway station, 15 minutes from Manchester Airport and less than 30 minutes from the centre of Manchester by car.

Rooms and facilities are available for hire on an hourly, daily and regular term by term or annual basis.
All rooms are well lit, carpeted throughout with comfortable seating, wall-space for display materials, whiteboards and flip charts. Projectors, screens, and TV/monitors are available. Un-metered on street parking.
The beautifully light Main Hall, with its warm sanded pitch pine floor will seat 150 – 175 people comfortably and lightweight folding chairs are available. It has a low, carpeted stage. The grand piano and sound amplification system are available for hire and the room is equipped with a hearing loop system. It is ideally suited for concerts, theatrical performances, lectures, dance or yoga classes.
Rooms 4 and 5 combined make our largest space, after the Main Hall. It can be set up as a boardroom for 10 persons, as a single horseshoe with 16 seats, theatre-style it holds up to 56. There is a movable partition, which can be drawn across the combined room to give two smaller rooms.
Room 1 is one of our larger rooms. It is on the ground floor, has a pleasing rounded shape, and measures 5.6m by 7.2m (max). As well as lots of wall space and a whiteboard, it has a sink unit.
Room 6 sits at the back of our building, and is large enough for a horseshoe layout of 10 chairs, or can be set up with tables for 8 students/participants.
Room 2 is upstairs, and, like Room 1, has a pleasing rounded shape. It measures (max) 7.2m x 5.7m. It can be set up in horseshoe style for 10 people, or tables can be set up to sit 8 or more. It is has light and airy feel, and has a 32″ TV/monitor mounted the wall.
Room 3 is a smaller room upstairs. It measures 5.6m by 3.9m (max), and allows a horseshoe layout of 8 seats. It features a whiteboard and a TV/monitor.
The refreshment area includes a well-equiped kitchen area with twin sinks, built-in water boiler, kettle, coffee maker, hob, oven, fridge, microwave and a serving counter. Cups, mugs, glasses, plates, bowls and cutlery are available. It is generally set up with 5 round tables, sitting 25 persons.
There is a 20% discount for local societies and registered charities.
Hire of rooms includes the use of all 4 cloakroom facilities.
Hire of rooms does not include the use of office or telephones except in the event of an emergency

The piano is tuned regularly once a year, but would incur the charge if additional tuning was required.
Depending on the nature of the event an additional cleaning charge may be levied.
Rates are negotiable for long-term and regular bookings.
The School of Economic Science has public liability insurance. However, groups are advised to consider the nature of the event and if necessary take out their own insurance if the event contains risk. Groups are required in any event to conduct a risk assessment and send a copy to the Bursar.
